Still, Porsche has somewhat injected a modicum of common sense into the new flagship model: the Cayenne Turbo S. Despite gains of 42bhp and 37lb ft over the already potent Cayenne Turbo, Porsche claims the Turbo S suffers no drop in fuel efficiency or inferior CO2 output.

Mon, 18 Jan 2010The biggest surprise at the 2010 NAIAS was GMC's Granite concept - a design that expands (or rather contracts) the truck/crossover brand's 'professional grade' philosophy to a compact hatchback aimed at urban hipsters and early adopters. Conceived by Frank Saucedo's Advanced Design team in California and then built at GM's Design Center in Detroit, the Granite combines the basic proportions of the Nissan Cube and Scion xB with a military/industrial feel inspired by the current G-Star and Diesel fashion lines. This week is the Detroit Auto Show, but car makers are already releasing details of their offerings for the next car show at Geneva in March. Today, BMW has joined that list by announcing they will launch the BMW M Performance Automobiles division at the Spring show.
