The OEM fuel tank equipped on every vehicle is made to last the life of the vehicle and for everyday use. However, for racing purposes, it is overly large and heavy. That is where aluminum fuel cells/tanks come in. They are smaller, mountable in different locations and It is filled with an open-cell foam core to prevent explosion of vapor in the empty portion of the tank and to minimize sloshing of fuel during competition that may unbalance the vehicle or cause inadequate fuel delivery to the motor (fuel starvation). Mazda CX-5 crossover to get a diesel-engine option for 2014
Mon, 05 Sep 2011Mazda's CX-5 compact crossover will get a diesel option for the 2014 model year, according to a source familiar with the company's plans. The CX-5 goes on sale in the United States in February with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine. The vehicle will have Mazda's new Skyactiv fuel-saving technologies, which include direct-injection engines, a more efficient transmission and a lightweight frame and chassis.
Detroit convention center to get upgrades for auto show
