Brand New In Their Boxes--This pair of thumpers come complete with whatever warranty paper, screws and other "extras" that a new box comes with as these are "Same-As-Store" boxes. If you are building a system, the low end is important and it uses most of the system power. Avoid the unknown brands that all say "1000w" just like their amps that all say 600w per channel for $39....Look for watts per channel at .05% distortion and it drops to 20. Same with speakers, and Pioneer is a reputable company. These are not their competition and highest-end sub, but 98% of buyers do not need that. If you want clean and low sound at a budget price, this is a great choice. Of course, nothing else matters if the enclosure is the wrong type or size. Use the specs to select or build a proper one and you will be rewarded with VERY nice bass as these will move some air. Look them up for all the details that are not listed here, but the Sensitivity is an excellent 91db/w. That means they will play at a louder volume with LESS wattage than many others meaning that there is a lot more power handling than the specs. For example, this speaker will produce a sound pressure level of 103 db with just 16 watts (doubling power gets you 3db more if I remember correct). Of course specs and numbers are tested at certain frequencies and the lower frequencies that move a lot of air require a LOAD of power.
