HONDA CIVIC 1.7

CATALYTIC CONVERTER WITH EXHAUST MANIFOLD, DIRECT FIT

WITH A SET OF OXYGEN SENSORS AND INSTALLATION HARDWARE KIT

Fits the following vehicles:

HONDA CIVIC 1.7

·        models: 2001, 2002, 2003

·        models with 4 cylinder, 1.7 liter engine

·        models: DX, LX

This product set is the best aftermarket value and performance, direct fit, replacement for the catalytic converter that was originally installed in your Honda car.

Included in the set:

  • top and bottom heat shields
  • stainless steel manifold gasket
  • converter exit sealing ring
  • tensioning springs
  • two studs with nuts
  • set of two Oxygen Sensors (Pre-Cat Oxygen Sensor and Post-Cat Oxygen Sensor)

Our catalytic converters are all designed for a simple and quick installation. They are guaranteed to fit the engine manifold and components of the exhaust system without welding, modifications or adjustments.

All our catalytic converters are robotically assembled and welded. All our catalytic converters undergo pressure tests for converter shell integrity and weld leaks.

The high quality, long life ceramic catalytic block complies with EPA guidelines and specifications.

The converter body fully complies with the Federal EPA warranty durability requirements for aftermarket catalytic converters. The manufacturer warrants the external converter shell, including the end pipes for five (5) years or 50,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the date of installation.

A warranty application card must be returned to the converter manufacturer and include the vehicle owner's name and address, phone number, the make, model, year and mileage of the vehicle, the date of installation, the installing dealer's name and address and the part number(s) installed.

It is highly recommended to replace Oxygen Sensors at least every 100,000 miles and during installation of a new catalytic converter.

A worn-out oxygen sensor:

·        Wastes precious fuel

·        Will cause engine performance problems, such as surging and hesitating

·        Is the number one cause of excessive exhaust emissions

·        Considerably accelerates catalytic converter damage

Replacing a worn-out oxygen sensor:

·        Saves money in fuel costs

·        Improves engine performance

·        Reduces air pollution

·        Prevents premature failure of the catalytic converter

Oxygen sensor may fail due to a normal aging process. The sensors may also fail prematurely if they become contaminated with oil combustion products or traces of decomposing engine gaskets or engine sealants or the leaking engine coolant.

A defective sensor prevents the car's computer from adjusting air-fuel mixture properly, resulting in the air-fuel mixture becoming too rich. The final effect is incomplete fuel combustion, high fuel consumption and increased emissions. The unburned fuel may pass to the catalytic converter and ignite inside the converter. This will cause the converter to overheat. When the converter overheats the catalyst substrate inside the converter may melt or disintegrate forming a partial or complete blockage. The result will be a drastic drop in engine performance or engine stalling due to a buildup of backpressure in the exhaust system.

A malfunctioning oxygen sensor may cause severe damage to the catalytic converter. Too rich fuel mixture makes the catalytic converter to run much hotter than normal.

This product set is for Honda Civic 2001, 2002, 2003 models only.

Oxygen Sensors in this set are not for 2004, 2005 models.

What's New - January 2006

Fri, 27 Jan 2006

Volvo S80     Volvo has released pictures of the second-generation S80, a model series which when first launched in 1998 revived the Swedish brand with less slab-like, more expressive styling. This new model evolves those themes, and with it now carries Volvo's compact V8 that first appeared in the XC90 SUV last year. With 315PS put to the road through all four wheels, it will be Volvo's spearhead for penetrating the crucial American market and luring 35,000 new owners each year.

MINI John Cooper Works World Championship 50 We were slightly off with the name in that first report, its actually MINI John Cooper Works World Championship 50. Which I do hope they’re not thinking of putting on the car anywhere in full. For Goodness sake, why not just MINI F1 JCW, or something snappy?

Who's Where: John Puskar and Liz Wetzel appointed to new roles at GM Design

Tue, 10 Aug 2010

As part of an ongoing strategy at General Motors, this past month has seen a series of moves taking place within the company's design organization in Europe and the US. Two of the key changes have been the appointment of John Puskar to the role of Director of Cross-Brand Strategy, C&T and Components in North America, and that of Liz Wetzel, who has been named Director of GME Design Interior – effectively filling Puskar's role. Puskar, who until recently headed the Opel/Vauxhall Interior Design at the European Design Center in Russelsheim, Germany, majored in Industrial Design at the Cleveland Institute of Art and worked at Ford in both the USA and Germany before joining General Motors as a creative designer at the GMC Brand Center in 1999.
