McLaren SLR Edition revealed

Mon, 06 Dec 2010

McLaren SLR Edition A year ago – almost to the day – we reported that the very last McLaren SLR had rolled off the production line (well, production floor is more like it at McLaren) and that McLaren and Mercedes were going their own ways – McLaren with the McLaren MP4-12C and Mercedes with the Mercedes SLS AMG. Audi R8 e-tron killed off for production – again

Tue, 28 May 2013

It’s more than six months since we reported that Audi were planning to kill off any production plans for the electric R8 e-Tron, with Audi’s head of R&D saying the production plans for the R8 were going to be scrapped. And it seems they have now gone in the bin. Autocar are reporting that Audi has confirmed to them that the R8 e-Tron won’t be going in to production and the ten latest e-Trons to be built will be used just for testing and development to help Audi with its ‘electrification’ plans, which will now almost certainly concentrate on plug-in hybrids and range extenders, rather than EVs.

Alpine Celebration At French Historic Endurance Event

Wed, 02 Jul 2014

RENAULT will be out in force at this weekend’s Le Mans Classic. The historic alternative to the highly charged modern Le Mans 24-hour endurance race has proven popular with fans, and the French car maker will be celebrating its Alpine sub-brand by running three cars. This seventh running of the classic race will see an Alpine M65, Alpine-Renault A110 and Alpine-Renault A443 take to the famous circuit.
