05-11 VW MKV AirLift "SLAM" Kit With Auto Pilot Digital Air Management

Are you all about getting your VW as low as possible? Do you still want to use your car as a daily? Do you value great ride and handling? Of course you do!

That’s why Air Lift Performance developed the Slam Series for your MK5/6.  This kit allows you to drop the ride height an amazing 5.875”! Using our proprietary air struts in front with the proper frame modifications allows you to reach the lowest of lows… In the rear, we use double bellow bags and our brackets simply bolt on to the chassis, no cutting required!  And best of all, you get this kind of drop with a smooth ride thanks to specially tuned damping, double bellows bags and maximized wheel travel.

If you are into carving up stretches of asphalt, fear not!  All Air Lift Performance Suspension kits are racetrack tested and tuned to ensure that your handling expectations are met.  We are seriously addicted to the thrill of a corner taken at speed and our suspensions are designed and built to feed that addiction.

What about installation? With Air Lift’s detailed instruction manuals, anyone with the skill to wire a stereo and swap suspension components can have their car on the ground in a matter of hours. Only basic hand tools are necessary to complete the job. Of course “frame modifications” will require fabrication skills…

Coil-over suspension can’t compare with the versatility of air. With infinitely adjustable ride height, no longer do you need to worry about driveway entrances or speed bumps to enjoy a lowered car. Forget about the punishing ride that goes with many conventional suspension choices.

As the leader in air suspension products for over 60 years, Air Lift is committed to delivering quality parts that last. To ensure longevity for the customer, the key suspension components have been tested on a durability rig for over 1 million cycles, which equates to 100K miles. With a 1 year, unlimited mileage warranty, and the Air Lift reputation for great customer service and technical support, you can purchase this kit with peace of mind.  Ditch those coils and get yourself down!

Modifications Req. Front:Requires frame modification and removal of sway bar

Nissan drops GT-R engine in the Juke-R: Video

Wed, 26 Oct 2011

Nissan, in its quest to garner as many Facebook “likes” as possible, released the fourth video in its Juke-R series. This clip shows Nissan engineers planning how to shoehorn the massive 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V6 from the GT-R in the Juke's engine bay, made for a 1.6-liter. First they had to support the frame by welding a jig in place.

Driven: a week with a Chevrolet Volt

Mon, 22 Aug 2011

In Fall 2010, before the Volt went on sale in North America, we sampled an early build model and came away so impressed, we declared it the car for the digital age. Since then the car has received harsh criticism from the press and been outsold by the Nissan Leaf in the North American market. Given the unique powertrain, we felt longer exposure to the Volt was therefore in order, so on a recent trip to Michigan, we lived with one for five days.

Honda Civic

Tue, 13 Sep 2011

Honda has released the first images of its new Civic ahead of its launch today at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show. The Civic's flowing exterior design is said to have been inspired by the ‘blended wing body' airplane, in which the wings and fuselage blend into one entity for improved performance. The designers have kept the sporty and advanced elements of the car's character but have adapted them to emphasize the dynamism of the new Civic.
