McLaren worker critical after crash

A MCLAREN WORKER was left critically injured after the supercar he was driving crashed and left him impaled on a fence post in West Sussex The man, who has not been identified, left the A285 at Duncton and rolled in a car reported to be a McLaren 650S. Sussex Police said he was airlifted from the crash site to St George's Hospital in Tooting, south-west London, with critical injuries. A spokesman for Woking-based McLaren said his family were with him in hospital, adding: "Our thoughts are with our friend and colleague, and his family." Bob Lutz to join EV start-up VIA Motors

Robert Lutz, the former General Motors Co. vice chairman who rejoined the automaker this month as an adviser, has taken a position with electric vehicle maker VIA Motors. Lutz's role at GM won't change because of the move, a GM spokesman said.

UK new car registrations: 20 months of growth

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has once again increased its new car forecast for 2013. The news comes off the back of the 20th consecutive month of growth, with new car registrations up 4% in October. Last month’s total of 157,314 registrations brings the total to 1,952,238 in 2013 so far, leading the SMMT to up its forecast from 2.22 million to 2.25 million.
