Our new SSD Performance "Hybrid" Roof Rails for all 2003-2011 Honda Elements are HERE!

We call these "Hybrid" roof rails because they offer all of the advantages of traditional long side roof rails but also the ease of quick bolt on installation in the existing factory "fixed" cross bar mounts on your Element (the mounts are under those 4 plastic covers that are on your roof trim). There is with no drilling or modifications of any kind required for installation. Now you have an option to use traditional aftermarket roof rack cross bars and accessories. These new Hybrid Roof Rails allow the use of traditional aftermarket cross bars to be placed anywhere along the rails (up to 52" apart!) for added stability when carrying longer items like kayaks, canoes, long cargo boxes, ladders, etc.

These Hybrid Roof Rails feature all welded, 100% STAINLESS STEEL construction for strength and corrosion resistance and then finished in a tough, black powder coat finish to blend with your Element's trim and look good for years to come. These are solid, mount and remove easily if you only want them on your Element when you need them. Includes stainless steel mounting hardware, instructions and are made right here in the USA!

The optional Malone 58" Cross Bars that we sell in our other listings are compatible with these rails on the Element and carry Malone's lifetime warranty too (see our Ebay store or our other listings)

Thu, 23 Feb 2012

Liberty Electric Cars has launched a competition for design students calling for ideas for a revolutionary ‘Car of the Year' 2020. The company, which specializes in electric vehicle (EV) drivetrain technologies for multiple vehicle platforms, has asked for students to create a revolutionary electric vehicle for its ‘GEN Y 2012 – Express Yourself' contest. The design must be targeted for Generation Y (between 18 and 29 years old), with the brief stating that the vehicle "should be iconic in shape and allow the user to express their own personality." The vehicle should also "become a fashion item, fun to drive and should use innovative technologies and materials that can be easily configured according to the driver's requirements." The contest is open for students enrolled in a college or university-level design program, either in transportation, product or fashion design, engineering or architecture.

Formula E Spark-Renault electric race cars arrive with the teams at Donnington

Mon, 19 May 2014

The 10 Formula E cars arrive at Donnington No one knows if the Formula E experiment – an ‘F1′ Grand Prix series for electric racing cars – will garner the same sort of interest as its ICE counterpart, but with the first Formula E race scheduled for Beijing in September we’ll soon find out. Ahead of that debut race, Renault and Spark Technologies has delivered the teams their cars – all the same Spark Renault SRT_01E – to the Formula E base at Donnington. After a series of tests at a variety of circuits earlier this year, the Spark Renault SRT_01E passed all its final systems and architecture tests, which has allowed this first batch of the final series cars to be delivered for the teams to practice ahead of the race.

Bad-tempered driving increases over winter

Fri, 03 Jan 2014

We’re officially a nation of grumpy drivers – not helped by the bad weather and the end of Christmas festivities, a survey has revealed. Halfords Autocentres carried out a study about how winter affects motorists and found that experiences of impatient, aggressive and inconsiderate driving increase at this time of year. On Bing: see pictures of road rage British drivers ‘lack common courtesy’ Rory Carlin from Halfords Autocentres: “It seems that the festivities take their toll on the nation’s road manners and tempers flare leading to less kindness and unselfish behaviour from some motorists.” 23% of respondents felt that unfriendly and bad tempered behaviour was a major issue during the winter months, while a fifth said there was a rise in aggressive and impatient driving.
