Opel, General Motors' European unit, will unveil its vehicle that uses the range-extending powertrain first shown in the Chevrolet Volt, at the Geneva motor show in March. On Monday, Opel said that the car will be named Ampera. The Ampera will have four seats and five doors.

Evidently, somebody at Galpin Auto Sports took a look at the dearly missed Ford GT -- there must have been one in their showroom -- and muttered out loud, "You know, this car just isn't rare or powerful enough." Kia's Niro concept, which debuts at the upcoming Frankfurt motor show, will hint at a possible B-segment model. Designed at Kia's Frankfurt design studio under the direction of chief designer Europe Gregory Guillaume, Kia says the Niro will feature "intriguing elements not always associated with smaller cars" as well as a mix of contrasting materials. Although full details haven't been released, the pictures show the Niro features triangular headlamps along with Kia's signature ‘tiger nose' grill design and muscular wheelarches.
