Volkswagen e-Golf: MK 7 Golf EV leaks ahead of Geneva debut

Wed, 20 Feb 2013

An electric version of the MK 7 Volkswagen Golf – the VW e-Golf – has leaked out ahead of a debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Even though car industry bosses are sure that battery electric cars have no realistic chance of becoming a mainstream option – and the best-selling EV, the Nissan LEAF, has only sold 50k since 2010 – VW are rolling out an electric Golf at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. The VW e-Golf – with pretty much the same underpinnings as the new Mk 7 Golf with an ICE engine – comes with an electric motor driving the front wheels and offering 115bhp and 199lb/ft of torque, enough to get the e-Golf to 62mph in 11.8 seconds and on to a top speed of just 84mph.

Driven: Mitsubishi i

Fri, 11 Jan 2008

We first reviewed the diminutive Mitsubishi 'i' when it was unveiled at the 2005 Tokyo Motor show and, while we were pleased with the overall design of the car, we were disappointed that Mitsubishi had chosen not to export the innovative vehicle to other markets. But with the popularity of this compact urban cruiser soaring in Japan and the recent availability of the vehicle in the UK, we now had a chance to give it a go on the often traffic crippled streets of central London. Congestion in urban milieus is not a new phenomenon, but even with London's congestion charging system extorting money from drivers it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet: Official

Mon, 15 Nov 2010

The Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet - the world's first soft-top SUV You had plenty of notice. We told you in April that Nissan were building a Murano convertible, and in August we told you that we had confirmation from the horse’s mouth that the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet was going to happen, and that the LA Motor Show was where we’d get to see the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet for ourselves. And they weren’t telling porkies.
