Wolfgang Bernhard will take key post at Mercedes-Benz

Wolfgang Bernhard will take a key role at Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz Cars unit, the company said today. Bernhard will join Daimler's management board with responsibility for Mercedes-Benz Cars' production and procurement and for the Mercedes-Benz vans division, a statement said. Dave McLellan to be a featured guest at the Corvette Funfest

Dave McLellan, who presided as chief engineer for the fourth-generation Chevrolet Corvette, will be a featured guest at parts-seller Mid America Motorworks' annual Corvette Funfest in September. The Funfest brings together 14,000 Corvettes and 45,000 Corvette enthusiasts over a three-day weekend at Mid America's campus in Effingham, Ill. The event includes seminars, entertainment and--of course--plenty of Corvettes.

The Lotus Elise Club Racer Lotus may have plans to be the next Aston Martin, but for now it’s stuck with an Evora that’s not selling as well as it should and an Elise that is basically the same as the car that launched a decade ago. The plan with the Evora – apart from the rather odd move of getting Mansory to tart up an Evora – is to get the Germans in to give the Evora’s interior some class. As for the Lotus Elise, all there really is to do – because it has a hard-core clientele anyway – is to divvy up the odd special.
