VW Scirocco and eco models

By James Foxall Motor Shows 04 March 2008 16:05 So what's new on Volkswagen's Geneva Motor Show stand? By far the most exciting offering from VW was the production version of the new Scirocco. The good news is the firm has managed to combine the aggressive deep front air dams and skinny grille first shown on the car's concept with a healthy dose of  the original Giugiaro penned model.

Treasures from West Germany lurk at Sonoma Raceway

In my role of Chief Justice of the 24 Hours of LeMons Supreme Court, I travel to Sonoma Raceway, aka Sears Point, at least twice per year. Most of the time I'm there, I'm stuck disciplining miscreant racers with incomprehensible penalties, but every so often I slip away in my Race Organizer Review car to shoot some action photos of the competitors. A good area for shooting LeMons cars is from the access road that runs parallel to the track between turn 10 and turn 11, and getting there takes me past an area of shops and garages… and I always spot some interesting cars parked there.

Chevrolet Code 130R

The Chevrolet Code 130R Concept is one of a pair of concept cars designed as a direct result of feedback from Millennials – a demographic which car companies are desperate to engage with the automobile. The Code 130R is a four-seat coupe with a classically European proportion and size and more than a passing resemblance to the BMW 1 Series coupe. The car's muscular fenders, short front overhang and power-bulged hood provide reference to the classic muscle car era that engaged the youth of the 1960s and '70s.
