 Product Description

Performance Headers for 2011-2014 Sonata 2.0 and 2.4

 

  • Performanced headers are made in Korea by Maintec.
  • 100% stainless steel construction, each header is manually welded by Maintec technicians. 
  • The headers for the 2.4 will give you an increase of 5~6 horsepower, the 2.0 version will give you an increase of 4~5 horsepower. Dyno charts show the increases above.
  • To install, the 1st cat in the vertical position will have to be removed. The second cat will stay in place, and the header will go between the engine head and the 2nd cat. The header will have a bung for the 1st O2 sensor, and you may have to weld on a bung after the 2nd cat for the 2nd O2 sensor. The bung will be included. The cat must go between the 2 O2 sensors if you do not want a check engine light.
  • These are headers only for naturally aspirated cars. They will not fit turbo models.

Winners announced in Chinese Auto Design Awards 2011

Winners in the fourth Chinese Auto Design Awards have finally been announced. Held at the China Agriculture Film and Television Center in Beijing, the glamourous ceremony saw awards given to two groups; students and automotive manufacturers. Amongst the automotive groups, it was GAC Trumpchi that was awarded the ‘Best Design Innovation Award', whilst Buick's picked up the ‘Golden Dot Award' for its ‘Envision' concept car.

Ford CEO Alan Mulally to deliver keynote address at CES

Ford is continuing to double-down on its Sync technology as a way to separate itself from competitors, and in that theme CEO Alan Mulally will again deliver a keynote address at the Consumer Electronics Show in January in Las Vegas. He's expected to unveil the next round of Ford's Sync features at the show, which is a bellwether event for the technology industry. He also spoke at last year's show, and former GM CEO Rick Wagoner addressed it in 2008 as part of efforts by auto execs to showcase new innovations in their cars.

GM and Koenigsegg agree Saab sale

By Ben Pulman Motor Industry 16 June 2009 11:00 American car giant General Motors has signed a memorandum of understanding for the purchase of Saab by an investment group led by Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg. That's the deal. Supercar maker Koenigsegg Automotive, together with a consortium of private investors, has formed Koenigsegg Group, which has reached a ‘tentative agreement’ to buy Saab from GM.
