The announcement comes in the same week Lotus’s sales figures were released for 2012. Showing a substantial 58% decrease in sales and selling just 137 vehicles, Lotus Cars was the worst performer in the UK with a woeful 0.01% share of the market. Toyota begins testing wireless recharging for electric cars
Thu, 13 Feb 2014Toyota has announced that it will begin actual verification testing of its new wireless battery charging system for electric vehicles, one which charges the battery of a plug-in hybrid or a pure-electric car by having the car park over it. Toyota's charging system uses magnetic-resonance technology, which operates by transmitting electricity by using the magnetic resonance resulting from changes in magnentic field intensity between a coil positioned under the car, and a receiving coil built into the underside of the vehicle. This system eliminates the need for physically plugging in an electric car or a hybrid to an actual plug, and also has the potential to solve the problem of multiple types of actual plugs.

The video, released as one part of a series, charts the development of the Berlinetta, the fastest that Ferrari has ever created, from the original sketches through the digital and clay modeling phases to finally deliver the finished product. The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, one of the most hotly-anticipated cars of 2012, was officially unveiled at last week's Geneva motor show to crowds of fellow designers and members of the press as it appeared on both Ferrari and Pininfarina stands.
