New Jaguar XE: More Ingenium engine details (video)

Jaguar XE 2.0 litre diesel Ingenium engine – from 99g/km Unlike the new Land Rover Discovery Sport – which makes do with the current outsourced 2.2 litre diesel engine – the new Jaguar XE is getting JLR’s all-new range of Ingenium engines from launch. Now, with the proper debut of the XE just a week away, Jaguar is happy to share a bit more detail on the XE’s new engines. Built at Jaguar’s new engine plant – in which JLR has invested £500 million – the new Ingenium engines are a clean-sheet design, as light and efficient as possible and capable of delivering an impressive blend of power and torque.

Honda showed off two new Civics at the NAIAS 2011: the Civic Si Concept Coupe and the Civic Concept Saloon. They're sadly US-market only, rather than related to the European spec models, themselves up for replacement at the end of 2011. Although 'concepts', these two effectively show what will roll into US showrooms in spring 2011.  The blurb is pretty strict on the difference between the American and Euro Civics: 'The Civic Si coupe and saloon Concepts are US-only design and will not be sold in the UK.

2013 VW Golf TDI BlueMotion Mk 7 costs from £20,335

Starting at £20,335 for the 3-door BlueMotion and rising to £20,990 for the 5-door, the new Golf also emits just 85g/km CO2 (which would have been enough for free London Congestion charging, but not any more) which is 15 per cent better than the previous Mk 6 TDI BlueMotion managed. VW has managed to tweak the Golf BlueMotion’s economy figures still further by reducing weight, fitting super low rolling resistance tyres (that run with higher pressure), longer gear ratios, stop-start and aerodynamic tweaks. Thos aerodynamic tweaks includes modifications to the front of the Golf to reduce drag by nearly 10 per cent, adding a roof spoiler, air guide elements on the back window, a masked front grill, smoother underfloor and a reduction of ride height by 15mm.
