Aviator
The Aviator snow goggle from 509 features a design inspired by the face shield of a jet fighter pilot. This unique styling brought from the aviation industry, provides not only a futuristic appearance, but more importantly performs even better in even the harshest winter conditions.

The Aviator is engineered using a 'rimless' frame design. This sleek design minimizes the amount of goggle frame in your field of vision. By reducing the thickness of the frame, we are able to use a much larger spherical lens without increasing the overall footprint of the goggle. This maximizes the goggles lens to frame size ratio, providing industry leading peripheral vision.

The problem with traditional goggles is they tend to restrict your vision. We addressed this concern head on and focused on designing a snowmobile specific goggle around the absolute largest lens possible. The result is an unprecedented clear view, never before provided in a snow goggle.

The 509 Aviator Goggle is a high end goggle built with only the best materials and craftsmanship. We spared no expense and cut no corners in the design and development of this goggle. The attention to detail is second to none. Aside from the unique rimless design, and oversized spherical lens, we also focused on improving the strap. The 509 Aviator goggle features a 2" wide strap with triple silicon lining that provides even greater helmet grip. 509 Aviators also come standard with our famous removable nose mask, which keep you comfortable even in the coldest conditions. They also come standard with oversized triple layer face foam.

Fog Free Technology
509 has worked closely with the world leader in military & medical anti-fog hard coatings to develop a proprietary, goggle specific, anti-fog technology that is applied to all 509 goggles.

Lens Technology
We also tirelessly sourced the most durable, scratch resistant lens materials as well. The result is an innovative Polycarbonate (PC) outer lens. This new technology provides an unmatched anti-scratch rating for both the inner and outer lens. In addition, we applied an additional dual coated NO SCRATCH, hand applied hard coating. This protective, permanent hard coating provides an unmatched level of scratch resistance to your goggle lens.

Features Include:
Fog Free / No Scratch Lens TechnologyFog Free coating on a Polycarbonate (PC) anti-scratch outer lens. Fog proofing & durability like you've never seen before.

Improved Visibility
Industry leading large, oversized spherical snow lens.

Rimless Frame Technology
Fighter pilot inspired design Rimless frame design with 17 vent ports.

Removable Nosemask
Features removable nosemask to keep you warm and comfortable.

Triple Layer Oversized Foam
Triple layer moisture wicking foam, keeps you dry and warm. The oversized and thicker foam provides a larger footprint which blocks any air gap between the goggle and helmet. Keeps you warm while preventing air from contacting your skin.

Anti-Slip Silicon Lined Strap
2" wide, silicon lined straps keeps your goggle strap in-place at all times.

Lifetime Warranty
Backed by a lifetime warranty covering the frame, strap, nosemask, outriggers, hinges and trim pieces against manufactures defects. One year warranty on the lens and foam against manufactures defects.

Automakers try to stop increase in ethanol limit to 15 percent of gasoline

Mon, 11 Oct 2010

Automakers are seeking to head off an EPA ruling that would allow gasoline to contain 15 percent ethanol, up from 10 percent now, and they've won some bipartisan congressional support. The two main automaker industry lobbies have argued that the U.S. Department of Energy has done insufficient testing to assure that gasoline containing up to 15 percent ethanol won't harm vehicles.

New teaser pictures of the upcoming Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing But time moves on and it won’t be long before we get the full reveal at Frankfurt, so Mercedes is out playing at more tease, and has issued the pictures you see here. And we get a few more details. Auto Motor Und Sport has been talking to SLS designer Hartmut Sinkwitz – who was responisble for the Smart (sublime to the ridiculous springs to mind) – who says that although it is important to pay homage to the Gullwing Mercedes of the ’50s – the inspiration for the new Mercedes SLS – it was vital that the SLS should be a modern car in every respect.
