Suzuki Celerio revealed in India – Euro-spec Celerio heading for Geneva

Fri, 07 Feb 2014

The new Suzuki Celerio (pictured_ revealed in India The Suzuki Celerio has been launched at the Auto expo in New Delhi this week as a new A-Segment offering from Suzuki, but the Celerio isn’t just for emerging markets and will arrive in Eur-spec at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show next month. The Celerio offers more space than bothy the Alto and Splash – Suzuki’s current offerings in the A-Segment – and is expected to cost much the same as the Alto when it arrives in the UK in early 2015. Which means the new Celerio  is probably the replacement for both the Splash and Alto, and Suzuki are trumpeting it a ‘pocket-friendly’ car.

Seat Altea Freetrack Concept

Thu, 08 Mar 2007

By Ben Barry Motor Shows 08 March 2007 11:42 What’s this, yet another crossover? Yes, what with the world going crossover crazy, Seat is the latest to jump on the bandwagon, unveiling the Altea Freetrack concept at Geneva – an important step as the brand currently has no four-wheel drive models in its line-up. Seat has also been lacking the edge that made it such a promising brand of late, and the Freetrack is a statement that it’s keen to get back on track.

McLaren F1 sells for $8.47 million at Gooding & Co’s Pebble Beach Auction

Sun, 18 Aug 2013

McLaren F1 chassis #66 (pictured) has sold for $8.47 million There’s been an inexorable rise in the price of classic cars in recent years as rich men realise that certain classic cars not only have huge appeal, but appear to be going only one way in price. Add to that – certainly in the UK – that any profits made on the sale of a classic car you’ve bought for your own enjoyment are tax free, and it’s no shock that values keep rising, and the rarer the car the more they rise. So with only 64 road cars made, the McLaren F1 can be considered a sound investment, with values rising since it first sold in the 1990s for around £640,000 to a new world record auction price set last night of £8.47 million (around £5.42m).
