Feds look at Toyota electronics as source of accelerator defects

Tue, 02 Feb 2010

The U.S. Department of Transportation is looking into whether Toyota Motor Corp.'s problems with unintended acceleration can be traced to defects in the electrical controls rather than just the mechanical problems cited by the automaker, a Transportation official said Tuesday. “We're not finished with Toyota and are continuing to review possible defects and monitor the implementation of the recalls,” Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood said in a statement.

Design Development: Yanfeng Visteon Glide

Tue, 02 Oct 2012

Those who attended our Designers' Night in Beijing earlier in the year will have seen the Yanfeng Visteon Glide concept car, a car many thought one of the best displayed throughout the whole motor show period. We caught up with Shizuki Kajiyama, Yanfeng Visteon's Design Studio Manager to find out more about the project.

Ford to slash price of Focus Electric by $4,000 for 2014

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Ford will be reducing the price of its Ford Focus electric by $4,000 for the 2014 model year, InsideEVs.com is reporting. The 10 percent price cut will lower the starting MSRP from $39,995 (including a $795 destination charge) down to $35,995. This move by Ford is seen as an attempt to keep the electric car competitive since its release back in 2011.
