Jaguar XF – 2010 Updates
Thu, 11 Feb 2010Jaguar has updated the XF range for 2010 / 2011 The Jaguar XF was the real start of the Jaguar renaissance. It replaced the very able – but rather unloved – S Stype in 2008 and offered a real contemporary Jaguar, fully equipped for the 21st century and able to stand toe to toe with the best that Germany could offer. Top of the tree is the Jaguar XFR which is at least the match of the M5, E63 and RS6, but at less money.
Opel Ampera preview
Tue, 27 Jan 2009Opel has released a teaser sketch of its new five-door extended-range electric car ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Auto Show in March. Based on the Voltec powertrain and chassis architecture of Chevrolet's Volt, the Ampera promises to surpass that car in terms of style by some margin. The body appears to be nearly identical between the A- and C-pillars, but the deformed horseshoe-shaped headlamp design and two-bar grille come straight from the 2007 Flextreme concept, as do the car's tree-branch alloy wheels.
VW 'to announce its WRC entry' at Rally Sardinia
Fri, 15 Apr 2011VW Polo R WRC (2011): Volkswagen enter the WRC High-level sources in an existing World Rally Championship team have told CAR that Volkswagen will formally announce its decision to enter the WRC at Rally Sardinia, which starts on 5 May 2011, somewhat stealing the thunder of Mini’s WRC debut. It’s believed that sister firm Skoda’s Fabia Intercontinental Rally Challenge car will be used as the first step in development. This car currently runs to the 2.0-litre naturally aspirated S2000 rules, so one of the first steps will be to switch to a 1.6-litre turbo.
