At the core of the 3M Wheel Restoration System lies 3M’s advanced sanding discs. By carefully leveling the surface on and around the damaged area using your household drill and the supplied 3M backing plate attachment, you make the damage less noticeable or, in some cases, remove it completely. After you level the surface, you simply remove your sanding marks with the included 3M Compound and before you know it the damaged area will look new again!
Like other DIY kits from 3M, the Wheel Restoration System is incredibly easy to use. Included with each kit are clear, concise instructions that walk you through each step, insuring complete success for users of all skill levels.
For severe defects and imperfections on your wheel, you can use Bondo Single Use Body Filler (sold separately) in conjunction with the 3M Wheel Restoration System.
Designed for non-clear coated, polished aluminum wheels. If you plan on using this kit on factory painted/clear coated wheels, you will need to use touch-up paint or re-clear the area after removing the defect.

KTM halts production of the X-Bow two-seater as inventory grows
Mon, 24 Aug 2009With sales well below expectations and 80 units reportedly unsold, Austrian motorcycle company KTM has temporarily halted production of the ultralight X-Bow two-seat sports car. KTM officials originally expected sales of 1,000 units a year. But that lofty goal is being scaled back to between 200 and 300 units a year.

Wheel maker connects with exotic clientele via social media

Miami-based ADV.1 Wheels is building a business fueled by a social-media approach that includes car-forum interaction, photo shoots and short films on the Internet. The company launched a Facebook fan page in late March, has received more than 59,000 “likes” and aims for 100,000--at which point ADV.1 Wheels has promised to give away a set of the company’s Trakfunction wheels.
