Racer’s Edge Industries, Inc. introduces Pro Scale Ramps the first ever one piece scale ramps that hold a racing scale from Longacre, Intercomp, and Rebco, or any other 15”x15”x2 ½” scale. The Pro Scale Ramps design starts off with a diamond plate textured ramp which lets you roll your vehicle up and down, Then goes to the recessed pocket with four sides, which holds the scale in place and has a five degree angle that slopes to the top so the ramp never interferes with the scale, And then goes into the roll off area which allows you roll your vehicle on and off the scale with ease to zero your scale and help release any side bind in the front end to achieve accurate wheel weights. There are seven one inch round rubber feet on the bottom to keep the Pro Scale Ramps from sliding around on the ground. The Pro Scale Ramps dimensions are 48” long by 17 3/4” wide by 3 1/8” high and weighs 15 pounds apiece and are rated at 1500 pounds per ramp. They are sold in a set of four. Pro Scale ramps are made of molded plastic with a double wall and are made in the USA. Includes a one year warranty. The Pro Scale ramps are the most durable ramps on the market today. Mercedes celebrates 60th anniversary of Unimog with new concept

Tue, 07 Jun 2011

The Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks unit (MBS) revealed a design study celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Unimog at the Daimler plant in Wörth recently. The concept, called simply ‘60 Years Unimog', is said to inform the future form language of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle design. Combining of the past and future of the Unimog, the MBS development team, the Daimler commercial vehicle designers in Sindelfingen and a model designing partner have created an avant-garde vehicle that retains the inherent functionality and capabilities of the now iconic vehicle.

McLaren 12C Can-Am & Historic McLaren Can-Ams at 2013 Goodwood FoS

Tue, 30 Apr 2013

It seems it was, because by November McLaren revealed the 12C Can Am was going in to limited production – just 30 units at £375,000 each – for deep-pocketed Americans to go track day racing with a 12C that weighs in at 1200kg, gets a few extra horses and 30 per cent more downforce compared to the road going 12C. So with a new track car and a 50th anniversary to celebrate in 2013, McLaren has decided it’s a good idea to take the 12C Can-Am off to play on the Goodwood hillcimb this summer at the 2013 Festival of Speed and, for added interest, take along a selection of models from their heritage collection – the ultimate McLaren racers of the 1960s and 70s – for our delight. McLaren has also given us a teaser video of the M8D Can-Am Racer (below) as a taster of what visitors to this year’s FoS can look forward too, yet another reason to get yourself down to Sussex in July.

Is Mercedes preparing to buy Ducati?

Thu, 16 Dec 2010

Remember the AMG-Ducati deal made at the 2010 Los Angeles auto show last month? A partnership of like-minded brands, albeit on two wheels and four. Daimler marketing types reckon that buyers of its AMG go-faster cars could in many instances be equally interested in go-faster motorbikes of the sort Ducati specialise in, and vice versa.
