Toyota Urban Cruiser hits the UK

Fri, 15 May 2009

The Toyota Urban Cruiser hits UK Car Showrooms today [ad#ad-1] Toyota’s baby 4×4 – The Toyota Urban Cruiser – hits UK showrooms today after being unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last year. Looking like a Toyota Land Cruiser that’s been through a boil wash, the Urban Cruiser is designed to take sales from buyers of super minis looking for something a bit different. It’s also looking to take sales from drivers of conventional sized 4x4s who love the high driving position, but are looking for something a little more economical in the current climate.

The MG5 is a C-segment, two-box hatchback, based on SAIC AP platform. Like the MG5 concept, SAIC Design UK and SAIC Design China designed the production version's exterior and interior respectively, in a collaboration between Ken Ma – former director of SAIC Design China – and current Global Design Director Tony Williams. In general, its exterior has inherited the ‘Flow Edge' design philosophy from MG3, which launched in the Chinese market last year.

Bugatti rolls out another ‘Legends’ Special – the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Black Bess

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

It’s the Bugatti Veyron Black Bess No, Bugatti hasn’t named their latest Legends limited edition car – the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Black Bess – after Dick Turpin’s horse (well, not directly anyway), but after the Bugatti Type 18 – dubbed Black Bess – which was the Bugatti Veyron of its day. Only seven Type 18s were built – between 1912 and 1914 – and just three remain, with the one dubbed Black Bess (which did get its name from Dick Turpin’s horse) on display in the Louman Museum in The Hague and complete with its 5.0 litre four-cylinder engine good for 100bhp and a top speed of 100mph. The new Black Bess Bugatti is a Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse with 1184 ‘black’ horses, a 0-62mph of 2.6 seconds and a top speed of 233mph and comes with a carbon fibre body painted in black with gold highlights (and looking like a 1970s JPS F1 livery).
