College Exhibition: College for Creative Studies Student Exhibition 2004

Jul 20, 2004 - On the evening of May 14th, Detroit's College for Creative Studies opened it's 79th Annual Student Exhibition with a patron preview. The entire campus was transformed into a gallery to display works by many of the year's students. The CCS Student Exhibition is one of Detroit's major cultural community events.

Detroit, heart of the American car industry, traditionally hosts the first motor show of the year each January. Officially known as the North American International Auto Show – or NAIAS – it’s a chance for carmakers to kick-start the coming 12 months with a bit of glamour and sparkle. Nissan’s EV onslaught continues with Townpod

Nissan’s Townpod will be the company’s third electric vehicle (a battery-powered version of the NV200 commercial vehicle will slot in after the Leaf) and is slated for a late 2012 arrival in the UK. Looking remarkably like a character from Pixar’s Cars film, the Townpod takes the lithium-ion battery-powered drivetrain of the Leaf and cloaks it in urban friendly sheetmetal. The long wheelbase and zero overhangs results in a huge cabin, accessed by some trick doors – rear-hinged rear doors and a vertically split rear door.
