Elegant and refined. Forty years ago these two words would not have been used to describe the Beetles bought in droves by the counterculture in the US; a symbol of the hippy movement and the definitive people's car, designed at a time when Germany sought to put people in motion. In pursuit of the Ford Raptor, the just-announced aftermarket Lingenfelter Reaper and who knows how many other desert-stompin' pickups and SUVs, Toyota introduced the TRD Pro Series of off-road vehicle packages at the Chicago Auto Show. The Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner each get kits designed by Toyota Racing Development that will be installed at the factory. All TRD Pro Series kits will include:
- TRD Bilstein remote-reservoir shocks
- TRD-tuned front springs
- TRD front skid plate
- A bunch of cosmetic touches like TRD floor mats and shift knobs.

If there’s one thing you can say about a Porsche Cayenne – or any Porsche – is that it’s well bolted together. And cleverly conceived too, which is why there’s a locking mechanism for the headlights that allows you to unlock the whole unit and pop it out to change bulbs.
