I hate to sell this piece.  It is not a regular production item.

These pans were made to sport the COBRA logo, fins, and old school look of the Carroll Shelby Cobra Racing/Buddy Barr sand cast accessories available on the small block, and big block Cobras of the '60's.  The exception is :  These pans were made to fit that look onto Ford 429 and 460's.

Do you remember when the AC Cobra replica builders were installing those 385 series engines in their replica cars ?  Yep.  Pretty popular choice in the late 1980's and '90's.  Now-a-days they do it a bit differently.

In any event, this sand cast Cobra oil pan was installed on a 429 based 557 Ford big block engine.  This engine was installed in a 1969 fastback Mustang dressed in a full Tony Branda Shelby GT500 retrofit body package.  Yes siree' .... a '69 '70 Shelby GT500 clone with a 557.  Problem with that was it had a RUG toploader 4 speed behind it.

In any event, the engine was pulled, and taken apart.  Drag racers don't need Cobra aluminum pans.  That's where the engine went.  The engine is gone, but the pan is right here !!

If you contact Tony Branda at Cobranda Parts .... he will tell you that this pan sold for 900 dollars way back when.  He will also tell you that they have two of these left, brand new.  Those new ones are 1500 bucks.  Yeah I know, that's a ton of money, and maybe not worth fiddling with.  They only made so many of these Cobra pans for 429's and 460's.  They aren't making them anymore.  Scarcity drives the market in these events.

This particular Tony Branda Cobra oil pan is over 25 years old.  It's been fired up, and moved around ... but as you can see ... the inside is looking still very, very new.  Underneath too.  I've held onto it for fifteen years.

Oil drain back holes flow back into the T sided oil ban.  It has swing out oil pan baffles to keep the oil near the pickup tube when cornering.  The oil pump pickup tube is included, and the magnetic oil pan bolt has never hit anything road related.

Pan holds 7.5 quarts of oil.

With the exception of the pan blemishes from grazing the front radiator support, and engine crossmember .... the pan is very, very, frekn' nice.  I wish I had time to glass bead it, or engine wash it.  I don't.  Everything must go.  This pan does too.

This pan WILL clean up, with minimal efforts.  There are no deep scratches, or gouges.  Glass bead, or polishing wools are your friend.  Promise.  My selling feedback is STELLAR.

Do an internet search of this pan.  Won't find much about it.  Old, old postings .... and those really interested, will make a phone call.  Don't take my word for anything.  Call Branda !!  Then try to find one other than this one.

This pan, and related will be packed well, and shipped insured.  Good luck with it.

I'm going to be selling a lot of Torino and 429, 460 stuff.  1971 429 SCJ 4 bolt main block, and a 1970 Cyclone GT dash too will soon be listed.  NOS Hideaway grilles, housings, and assemblies.  NOS Torino GT tail light assemblies.  429 460 intakes, Offy, Edelbrock, Weiand.  So stay tuned to my Ebay name .... and maybe you can score some more.

Audi showcases bright future

AUDI IS to showcase new front lighting technology that uses super-powerful laser diodes just a few thousandths of a millimetre in diameter. But at the same time, the tiny diodes are claimed to be able to light the road ahead for an incredible 500 metres. That gives the technology about double the reach of today’s best LED headlights, with around three times as much overall light output.

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 02 March 2009 20:04 VW tonight issued these first photos of the new Polo Mk5 on the eve of its Geneva motor show debut. And the latest Polo supermini is every inch the shrunken Golf hatchback we were expecting – it looks like a Golf the cat sat on. One of the headlines is that they've cut the kerb weight by 8% over the outgoing Polo.
