Original NOS made-in-Italy Throttle Cable # M262 also replaces H8770

These cables were never stored outside and there is no rust on the inner and the housing is still pliable and crack-free.

Fits: The 250 - 350 Wards Touring bikes, Mojaves and Motobi.

Dimensions:

  • Inner cable length: 45.5" (B)
  • Inner cable diameter: 1.5mm (D)
  • Outer housing length: 42.5" (A)
No damage no blem. Cherry condition good and soft. ORIGINAL part NOT re/popped. Has the Satin color look on the outer cable, not the new shiny look the re/popped ones have. One each.

Cables adjustable to fit any bike as long as:
  • the cable type is correct (thin cables for throttle or choke, thick for brake or clutch)
  • the inner cable and housing are as long or longer than that required
  • the cable is NOT a speedometer cable
Before you start cutting cables and outer to fit your bike, look at the original cable and measure the "slack", the slack
is the difference in length between the inner cable and outer housing.  Keeping the slack the same insures that the new
cable will fit using the original adjusters and levers.

Shortening the outer housing:

1. Slide out the inner cable and set it somewhere clean, otherwise it will pick up loose dirt or debris that can jam
   up inside the outer housing.

2. remove the housing endcap by twisting it off by hand or by carefully using pliers, take care not to smash it.

3. slice off the outer rubber portion of the housing, the amount you cut off should be the as the amount you're
   removing from the housing.

4. use a dremmel or wire snips to cut off the exposed inner wire housing coil making sure the cut end stays in line
with the coil or it will block or damage the inner cable (use needle nose pliers to correct if necessary)

5. it's unlikely the original housing endcap will slide back over the rubber housing, sometimes I get lucky and it does..
otherwise, slice off another portion of the outer rubber housing just shy of the length of the endcap.

>

6. Slide the  original endcap back over the exposted inner coil.

7.  It may not stay there on it's own but it will stay in place once the cable is properly installed on the bike.

Shortening the inner cable:

1. slide the inner cable back into the housing (I like to lube it before doing so, making sure to keep it away from dirt
   and debris)

2. measure out the amount of cable to cut off to keep the same slack as the old one

3. use a dremmel or wire snips to cut off the exposed inner cable, the cut needs to be clean, any stray strands will shorten
the life of the cable by a lot.. they also make it hard/impossible to install the new ferrel.

4. install the new ferrel that fits your lever or carb.  you can either a screw-on type or solder on a new one.

Shortening cables with pre-soldered ferrels on each end.

Same instructions as before with the following notes:

1. You'll need to decide which end to snip off, this all depends on what you have on hand to replace it with.

2. snip off the original ferrel as close to the end as possible

3. remove the inner cable

4. following above-instructions on how to shorten the outer cable housing

5. once the outer housing is cut and ready slide the new inner cable back into it and cut it to match the original
   slack.

Done!   If you have any questions or requests don't hesitate to drop me a line.

thanks
Alex

Suzuki Q concept

The second of Suzuki's concept trio is the Q, whch is designed for the inner-city commuter. The highly stylized all-electric quadracycle is powered by an electric motor and battery pack, the Q has a range of 50km and a top speed of just 37mph. The Q is aimed at those with a short commute, described as being "ideal for everyday journeys within a radius of about six miles" and, as such, is pitched as a comfortable commuting tool.

Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak – Sebastian Loeb is impressed (video)

Sat, 11 May 2013

The Pikes Peak hillclimb is an awesome event with more than 150 turns on a course more than 12 miles long running up in to the clouds at the summit of Pikes Peak Mountain. This year Peugeot are back to take on Pikes Peak in a car they like to describe as a Peugeot 208, but apart from the name it has nothing much more than a passing resemblance to Peugeot’s latest hatchback. For a start, it has a 3.2 litre twin-turbo V6 that delivers an incredible 875bhp which is enough to get to 62mph in a neck snapping 1.8 seconds and 150mph in an equally unbelievable 7 seconds.

Aston Martin Rapide prototype stretches its legs at N

Aston Martin caught our eye with the Rapide concept at the 2006 Detroit auto show. But the project slid to the back burner as then-owner Ford Motor Co. couldn't fund development of the car.
