509 FOG FREE LENS TECHNOLOGY
We have worked closely with the world leaders in optical lens materials and anti-fog technology to develop a proprietary, goggle specific anti-fog treatment. Unlike traditional anti-fog treatments that are simply an applied coating layer, 509 fog free technology is a chemically applied treatment which modifies the lens material's surface, giving it long lasting anti-fog properties. Where traditional coatings fall short in terms of effectiveness and longevity, 509 fog free technology shines. The advantage of 509's chemically bonded fog free lens treatment, over traditional anti-fog layer coatings is significant. It's an advantage you'll notice on the first day you ride, all the way to the last day of the season.

ITALIAN POLYCARBONATE DUAL LENS
In addition we also tirelessly sourced the most durable, scratch resistant lens materials on the market. In an effort to provide the absolute best optically clear lens on the goggle market, we have teamed up with an industry leading, 165 year old Italian optics lab. Through this exclusive partnership, we're proud to announce an optically clear, polycarbonate lens that provides an unmatched anti-scratch & durability rating. The 509 advantage of Italian optical quality over our competitors Chinese optical quality is significant. Experience the 509 advantage and see why 509 goggles are the #1 premium snowmobile goggle in the world. From our USA design lab, to our optical partners in Italy, to final lens & goggle assembly in our world leading R&D facility in China, you'll see why 509 goggles outmatch the competition.

German Parts Pillagers Roam the American Southwest, Sending Treasures Home For Future Car Museum

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

Quite a few older European cars are purchased in rust-free parts of the United States and then shipped back to the home continent, and this process tends to intensify when the Euro gets stronger versus the dollar. While that's going on, crews of European gearheads also roam the wrecking yards of the Southwest, filling shipping containers with parts to ship back home; I know of a trio of Swedes who come to Colorado every year and ship home tons of parts, but they've got nothing on this pair of Germans. These gentlemen fly to the United States four times each year, spending two or three weeks each trip, and send home cars and shipping containers packed with parts, all as part of a scheme to open up a car collection showcasing "cars from the road." They were kind enough to send me a bunch of photos of their most recent trip, so let's see what their enviable lifestyle looks like.

Volvo S60 L plug-in petrol hybrid heading for Beijing Motor Show

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

The Volvo S60L Plug-in (pictured) heading for Beijing The Volvo V60 Plug-in is already doing good business for Volvo – despite a price tag of £50k – but the V60 plug-in is a diesel hybrid which doesn’t suit all markets. So Volvo are ploughing ahead with a petrol engine based plug-in hybrid with the debut at the Beijing Motor Show next week of the Volvo S60 L Plug-in, a petrol hybrid version of the long wheelbase S60. At first glance the S60 Plug-in looks just like its regular ICE sibling, but under the skin sits a 2.0 litre Drive-E petrol engine with 238bhp and 258lb/ft of torque – which drives the front wheels – and a 68bhp electric motor with 147lb/ft of torque that can drive the rear wheels, which can be recharged in 4.5 hours.

Kia CUB revealed: Seoul Motor Show 2013

Thu, 28 Mar 2013

The Kia CUB Concept has been revealed at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show as a four door coupe powered by Kia’s 1.6 litre Turbo. Still, the CUB is a concept so a little bending of reality is the norm, and the CUB seems a perfectly sensible concept for Kia to be delivering,  tapping as it does in to car buyers’ penchant for funky urban crossovers. Although we’re not entirely sure there’s a country mile in intent between the CUB and the Kia Provo we saw at Geneva.
