This is a pair of genuine original equipment brake drums from the rear of a 57-58 Corvette with the heavy duty brake and suspension option referred to as ' big brake ' or 'RPO' setup .

These have been cut to an oversize of 11-1/4 inches which is 1/8 inch above the recommended size .

The braking surface is generally smooth while the centers of the drums are somewhat pitted and distorted from careless removal years ago .

There are services to sleeve such drums back to standard costing about 300.00-400.00 each if need be .

As is , they are more suitable for a trailer queen or display of some kind .

One of them has a single chipped fin , while the other has several fins with chipping .

The Quail motorsports gathering that is part of the Monterey Historics/Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance weekend is alive and well, according to the event's organizers. They say that although the owners of the Quail Lodge closed the hotel portion of the resort on Nov. 16, the golf course and clubhouse remain open and will continue to run the Quail Motorcycle Gathering on May 8, 2010, and the Quail, a Motorsports Gathering.

Jaguar designer creates personal car

JAGUAR'S Director of Design Ian Callum has created a one-off car as his perfect idea of a Jaguar saloon car. The redesigned Mk2 is a classic saloon from the 1960s and has been restyled by Callum as part of an 18-month project to build his perfect car. Built by British restoration firm Classic Motor Cars, the Callum Mk2 retains the flowing lines of the original but they have been smoothed off.

Ford plans to introduce two-cylinder and three-cylinder engines

Ford Motor Co. will introduce its smallest turbocharged engine yet next year, and on the horizon are even tinier engines--including two- and three-cylinder versions, the automaker's powertrain chief said Monday. Barb Samardzich, Ford vice president of powertrain engineering, said two- and three-cylinder engines and engines with displacements of 1.0 liter or below are possible.
