VW debuts Twin Up! Concept at Tokyo Motor Show

Volkswagen introduced the newest member of the XL1 family at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Twin Up! Essentially the plug-in hybrid version of the Up!, this four-seater concept car shares some of its drive system with the Volkswagen XL1 including its dual-clutch automatic transmission, diesel engine and electric motor. GM sells Suzuki shares to raise emergency funds

The General owns a 3% holding in Suzuki Motor Corporation and will sell 16,413,000 shares on the open market tomorrow. Based on today’s values, GM will raise an estimated £154 million through the sale, although Suzuki will exercise an option to buy back an equivalent number of its own shares in treasury stock.

BRABUS reveals the world’s most powerful estate car!

German tuning firm BRABUS has revealed the new Mercedes E 63 AMG-based BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo estate… which (as suggested by its name), at 850hp, takes the title of world’s most powerful road-legal estate car. The monster Merc dutifully delivers some monster performance figures – indeed, the firm’s actually had to electronically restrict its top speed to 186mph in order to protect the tyres – it would otherwise shoot way, way beyond the 200mph mark. The potency of this estate car is truly eye-watering.
