These brand-new CalValves are an oversize (+ 0.008 in.) solution for quality engine rebuilding. Much like a oversize pistons or bearing, this allows the machine shop to restore the worn valve guides rather than knurling, lining, or replacing them. This is the perfect solution to restore your heads to like-new condition. The worn guides are re-machined to a slightly larger, better than new condition through reaming. Most new guides have bores with surface finishes between 60 and 80 "µin. Ra" right from the box, but a guide that is wet reamed with our reamers will typically have a finish of bewteen 10 and 25 "µin. Ra". A smoother finish means less friction and less wear.

Many machine shops have the adjustable reamers to fit these valves or they are available from many suppliers, including CalValves.com, the manufacturer of these valves.

Buy these valves for a future rebuild!

Here is the website for the manufacturer CalValves.com

Cal-Valves® is a registered trademark of Cam Grinding of Michigan.  The manufacture’s logo appears only because it was printed on the original box. All valves are genuine produces of Cam Grinding.  We have used their products in our rebuilt heads, however, we are not a “authorized “ reseller of their products.  We encourage you to visit their website for more information on this outstanding manufacturer of USA made valves.

McLaren P1 – Driven by Jay Leno at the Top Gear track (video)

Tue, 03 Sep 2013

Jat Leno (pictured) drives the McLaren P1 at the Top Gear track at Dunsfold We reported just a few days ago that the McLaren P1 has all but sold out, and one of those buyers is America’s petrolhead in chief, Jay Leno. Even though Jay isn’t short of a few bob, he’s not going to be the wealthiest buyer of a P1 (by far), but his celebrity status has conferred on him something most P1 buyers won’t get – the chance to take to the Top Gear track at Dunsofold in the new P1 with McLaren’s Chris Goodwin (Chief Test Driver) riding shotgun. Prior to the run round Dunsfold, Jay gets a tour of the new P1 production centre (perhaps the cleanest car production centre in the UK) before being whisked off to Dunsfold by helicopter.

Chevy introduces two Silverado SEMA concepts at Texas Fair

Mon, 30 Sep 2013

Chevy used last Friday's State Fair of Texas to introduce two buffed-up pickup trucks prepped for SEMA. The first, based on the Silverado Double Cab with the Z71 package, was for fighting fires; the other, a Crew Cab 4x4, is for top-secret Black Ops missions (??- ED.) Chevy This pickup carries equipment, water and fire extinguishers. According to Chevy, the Silverado Z71 Volunteer Firefighter concept honors the service of “first responders” while showing off the pickup's work credentials.

Cash for clunkers plan revives trade fight

Thu, 05 Feb 2009

Import brand automakers and dealers warned on Thursday that a vehicle scrappage proposal before the Senate would violate trade agreements and could weaken the economy. The Senate could vote on the plan on Thursday, which would offer $10,000 to any moderate- or low-income consumer who trades in a car or truck that is at least 10 years old and buys a new one that is more fuel-efficient and "assembled in the United States." The trade-ins would be scrapped rather than resold. The U.S.-made mandate "smacks of the protectionism that led to the Great Depression," said Barbara Nocera, the top Washington lobbyist for Mazda North American Operations.
