Aston Martin at the Paris motor show 2008
Fri, 03 Oct 2008By Ben Barry Motor Shows 03 October 2008 10:13 The buzz around Aston Martin continues. The now independent brand is teasing motor show visitors with a styling buck of the One-77 (the ultra-exclusive £1.2 million supercar that’ll be limited to a run of, yep, 77 when it arrives in 2009) that reveals just its front right and rear left aspects, plus there’s an automatic DBS on display and talk of exciting future Aston Martin projects. 2012 Pinto Stampede to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project
Tue, 20 Mar 2012The second-annual Pinto Stampede will take place May 17-20, beginning at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee and ending in Summit Point, W.Va., at the Jefferson 500. For those keeping track, that's 600 miles in a car that some would have you believe is little more than a rolling Molotov cocktail. For the second time, the Pinto Stampede will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that aims to “honor and empower wounded warriors” of the U.S.
CAR tech: who's to blame for your car's terrible fuel economy?
Mon, 12 Aug 2013In early 2013 Audi lost a case brought by the Advertising Standard Agency (ASA) because of ‘misleading’ fuel economy figures used in an advert, after a customer complained they couldn’t get anywhere near the 68mpg quoted. The court case once more exposes the yawning gap between officially sanctioned mpg figures and those experienced by owners. A recent study by the Independent Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) looked at cars sold in the UK and Europe, and discovered the difference between official mpg figures and real-world driving had grown from 8% in 2001 to a barely believable 21% in 2011.
