  • Free local pickup is available to customers who can visit our warehouse in Richmond, VA, and are equipped to safely load and transport their purchase. Please contact us to make arrangements.

RETURNS

  • For all returns, the buyer must contact us within 14 days of item receipt.
  • We offer the options of reimbursement and (if possible) item exchange (buyer's choice).
  • We will pay the return shipping costs if the item in question is covered by our warranty policy (see the section below).
  • For returns of items that are outside of our warranty policy, the buyer is responsible for all shipping costs.

WARRANTY POLICY

Please read this carefully. If your purchase is covered under a warranty, we'll do our best to help you as quickly as possible.

  • Parts (non engine/transmission): All sales are final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges, sorry.
  • Non-Performance Engines: Are covered with a 60 day start up warranty that begins on the date the engine is received.
  • Performance Engines (i.e. turbocharged, supercharged, VTEC VVTI VVL MIVEC, etc.): Are covered with a 30 day start up warranty that begins on the date the engine is received.
  • Rotary Engines: ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, sorry.
  • Transmissions: Are covered with a 30 day start up warranty against defective internals only.
  • Our Warranties Above Include: Internal parts of the engine block, head(s), and transmission. In the event of a defective engine block, head, or transmission, Japan Parts Service will be responsible to either replace or fix the defective part only, at our discretion. We will NOT cover any LABOR Cost incurred, sorry.
  • Our Warranties Above Do NOT Include: Exterior engine/transmission and related parts such as clutches, flywheels, flex plates, distributors, coil packs, ignitors, alternators, a/c pumps, power steering pumps oil/water pumps, solenoids, sensors, seals, valve covers, oil pans, manifolds, fuel system, turbo/superchargers, and torque converters.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

You (the “Buyer”) acknowledge and understand that you are purchasing used automobile parts (the “Parts”) from Japanese Engines Direct (the “Seller”). Buyer and Seller intend for the Release and Indemnification Agreement to be a binding, enforceable electronic contract between the Parties.

Seller is selling the Parts “AS IS” and “WHERE IS” and makes no warranties, express or implied, of any kind, regarding the Parts, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY warranties of merchantability and/or warranties of fitness for a particular purpose.

The Buyer hereby releases and waives any and all claims it may have against the Seller related to or regarding the Parts, such claims include, but are not limited to, claims for personal injury and/or property damage, now or at any time in the future, whether known or unknown, arising for any reason whatsoever.

The Buyer also agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Seller from any claims related to or regarding the Parts, such claims include, but are not limited to, claims for personal injury and/or property damage, now or at any time in the future, whether known or unknown, arising for any reason whatsoever. Should the Seller need to pursue or defend its rights under this Release and Indemnification Agreement, Buyer agrees to be responsible for all costs, including reasonable attorneys’ fees.

Should any portion of this Release and Indemnification Agreement be found unenforceable, that portion shall be null and void, but the remainder of the Agreement shall remain in force between the parties.

2013 Buick Verano Turbo turns up the power

Buick is adding a turbo variant this fall as the premium model for the Verano lineup. While it's meant to be sporty, the idea behind the sedan is to offer buyers a reasonably powerful option that allows for more amusing commutes, but admittedly, it isn't a dedicated performance model. This is a measured approach, which means extra output for expressway merges and launches from lights, but no hard-core suspension or brake packages.

Chevrolet Sonic turbo gets six-speed automatic

Chevrolet Sonic fans who want the turbocharged 1.4-liter engine but don't want a manual transmission are in luck. Chevrolet is now shipping the Sonic with a six-speed automatic mated to the turbo engine. Fuel economy for the turbo Sonic, despite the automatic, is 27 mpg in the city and 37 mpg on the highway, with a 0-to-60-mph time of about eight seconds, Chevy says.

-- Just in time for Halloween, here's project car as scary as it is inexplicable. A 1988 Lamborghini Countach, actually made by Lamborghini of Italy in 1988 (at the Lamborghini factory) has been neglected like the Trans Am that's been sitting in your uncle's shed since the Carter administration. We're pretty sure there's a scary story about how this Countach ended up this way, but we're not sure we want to hear it -- it'll be too depressing.
