Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S heading for Paris Motor Show

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S teased for Paris The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV may not be perfect, but it offers something no other car maker is able to offer at the moment – a tax-efficient plug-in hybrid SUV/Crossover for the same money as a conventionally-powered car. And it looks like Mitsubishi are planning to make the Outlander PHEV even more appealing. We have the first photos of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S – which is heading for a debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show – and as far as we can tell this is an upmarket Outlander PHEV with cosmetic tweaks and more toys.

The band of British enthusiasts behind the project aim to start production of the rebodied sports car in mid-2007, with prices from £12,000 to £19,000. A deal to buy the rights and tooling jigs for the axed two-seater from parent company DaimlerChrysler is about to be signed, and there will also be a convertible version.

XFR Jag the fastest ever

Tue, 13 Jan 2009

They took with them the usual holiday toys, but they remembered to pack a nice new Jaguar XFR, with a few mods necessary to run at Bonneville (roll cage, fire extinguishers, etc). They had a little fiddle with the ECU to derestrict it (and yield 600bhp) but, it is claimed, made no further mods apart from adding a spoiler at the back to stop the XFR taking off on the Salt Flats’ wide open spaces. Jaguar XFR breaks 225mph at Bonneville So what happened?
