Nicely illustrated/photographed catalog with 476 pages including index, in color, gloss card stock covers, paper interior, 8 1/2" x 11" full size format. This catalog is in good overall condition with lightly scuffed covers, normal handling wear but clean throughout & complete. It's priced accordingly. MAC was a direct competitor to all the major tooling manufacturers such as Bonney, Cornwell, Herbrand, OTC, Snap-On and others. Since 1938 they have remained a strong competitor producing a quality product and still exist as a going-concern nearing their 80th year anniversary. This particular example of a 1935 12/4 Austin Taxi is no ordinary cab though, having transported the rich and famous as part of its role as gust transport for boutique hotel, Blakes, in London’s South Kensington. Plucked from its more humble street life in the 70’s by the hotel’s creator - film star and actress turned hotelier and interior designer - Anouska Hempel (now Lady Weinberg) - the 1935 Austin Taxi Low Loading became the exclusive hotel transport soon after the hotel’s opening, for Blakes’s many famous guests including Ali McGraw, Neil Diamond, Robert Redford, Bob Dylan and Jane Russell.

Tue, 23 Sep 2014Fiat 500X Crossover teased on video – debuts at Paris Motor Show Just like MINI, Fiat has taken the retro-revival of the 500 way beyond the original, and now the latest take on the 500, and Fiat’s answer to the All4 MINI Countryman, is about to arrive – the Fiat 500X. The Fiat 500X is a butch take on the Fiat 500L, but the first (leaked) photo of the 500X (above) does show a car that’s less boxy than the 500L. Frankly, the video tease Fiat has released doesn’t show as much as the leaked photo, but instead focuses on teasing the 500X’s detail in between shots of a young woman playing on a swing.
'Drivers determine cycling safety'

Between 1% and 2% of drivers pass "dangerously close" to cyclists when overtaking, regardless of what they are wearing, a study found. The average gap left by a driver overtaking a cyclist has shrunk over the past few decades from 179cm in 1979 to 118cm in 2013.
