The Nissan Altima and Ford Fusion have entered the thick of the midsize sedan sales chase -- long a battle mainly between the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord -- leaving the rest of the pack a few laps behind. The facelifted VW Tiguan unveiled in China Volkswagen does big business in China, and has done for longer than probably any other Western car maker. We recently reported that VW has sold 5 million cars in China over the last 25 years, and that rate of sales is climbing rapidly. So it’s no real surprise that VW has revealed a facelifted Tiguan at this week’s Guangzhou Auto Show in China.

Daimler agrees to unload remaining Chrysler stake

Daimler AG announced today that it has reached an agreement to unload its remaining 19.9 percent stake in Chrysler LLC. "Daimler's remaining 19.9 percent shareholding in Chrysler will be redeemed, and Daimler will forgive repayment of the loans extended to Chrysler, which were already written off in the 2008 financial statement," Daimler said in a prepared statement. All told, Daimler will write off $700 million as a result of the deal, according to the statement.
