I bought this new replacement Subaru knock sensor for my 1996 Legacy L wagon as the ad said it fit. When I got it and tried to replace my old one, I discovered that the socket on the end of the wire did NOT fit the wire in my Subaru. The first 2 photographs show this sensor; the third shows the socket on my old sensor - you can see that it is different and does not work. Looking at other ads on eBay, it looks like this fits virtually all '97-'99 Subarus and many '96 models, but NOT the '96 Legacy L wagon. So my loss is your gain - I'd rather have someone use this than throw it out.
