VW Scirocco Studie R unveiled at Bologna motor show

The Scirocco Studie R is a more roadgoing version of the Scirocco GT24 race car – and is a thinly veiled guide to the R20T that’s in development. CAR Online revealed VW’s plans for a hot Scirocco earlier this month, and this white concept car further fleshes out Wolfsburg’s thinking.

Obama's second term: More EVs, safety

President Barack Obama's second term likely will include a return to an agenda of support for electric vehicles and also could clear the way for new rules on tailpipe emissions and auto safety that his appointees have been eager to release. Obama's fellow Democrats retained control of the Senate, while Republicans kept their House majority In his victory speech, Obama said he plans to meet with Republican challenger Mitt Romney in coming weeks to discuss ways to move the country forward. BMW poaches designer from Mercedes-Benz

Karim Habib is returning to BMW to take over as head of exterior design, the automaker announced on Tuesday. Habib spent the first 10 years of his career at BMW. During that time he was responsible for designing the exterior of the current BMW 7-series and the Concept CS.
