McLaren Special Operations (MSO) P1 and 650 S Spider Pebble Beach debut
Tue, 05 Aug 2014The McLaren P1 MSO (pictured) will debut at Pebble Beach 2014 It may be Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations in the news at the moment, but McLaren’s own Special Operations has been around since 2011, creating extreme examples of McLaren’s cars for deep-pocketed customers. And they’re back with two new MSO specials for this month’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The most impressive of the two MSO cars is, of course, a special edition of the already very special McLaren P1.
Smart Forspeed Concept reveled
Sun, 20 Feb 2011Smart Forspeed Concept - and the electric bike and scooter that will make production You’ve got to wonder if Smart is just a game for Mercedes. A bit like Maybach, except they keep churning out endless cars and concepts and editions and sales seem to go nowhere, instead of the Maybach way of keeping the same cars for a decade – and sales go nowhere. Last year in the UK Smart sales were down nearly 9% at a time you would expect sales of eco-focused small cars to boom.
Jaguar ramps up interest for the XF Sportbrake
Sat, 07 Jan 2012Jaguar XF Sportbrake - now you can register your interest The Jaguar XF Sportbrake (XF Estate) has been teased a couple of times so far, but now Jaguar are taking registrations of interest for the new XF. It’s not huge news that the Jaguar XF Sportbrake is being dangled again, but it’s an indication that the launch of the XF Estate is getting closer. When Jaguar first officially confirmed the XF Sportbrake back in November, they did so by creating a new Twitter account – @sportbrake - from which they’ve now acquired around 1,000 followers and, apart from responding to followers’ Tweets, have been regaling us with enigmatic Tweets like ‘The House in the Trees reflects nature in its balanced curves’ and ‘… few people achieve it… have you?’ Jaguar followed that up with a ‘Santa Special’ with Father Christmas loading presents in the back of the XF Sportbrake – still camouflaged and still with ‘@sportbrake’ plastered on the side.
