Jaguar sports hatch is inspired by R-D6 concept
Tue, 27 Oct 2009Jaguar plans to add a dramatically styled sports-hatch model to its lineup beginning in 2014. To be priced from about $60,000, the sports hatch on the drawing board was inspired by the R-D6 concept first shown at the 2003 Frankfurt motor show. The R-D6 design, which had been considered an ill fit for the brand's traditional sedan/sports-car image, is now gaining support at the highest levels of the company as it forges an independent future under Indian owner Tata.
Manzoni, Ingenlath and Hildebrand to speak at Auto Design Prague

The event is open to professionals and the wider public, and will include a program of 10 presentations by designers including vice president of Ferrari design, Flavio Manzoni; Volvo design director Thomas Ingenlath; Jaguar's advanced design director, Julian Thompson, and Qoros head of design, Gert Hildebrand. Chevrolet updates Impala logo
Mon, 16 Apr 2012Chevrolet has announced that its 2014 Impala will feature a redesigned emblem as the latest evolvement of the range's African antelope logo. The Impala model is one of only two vehicles – the other being the Corvette and its crossed-flags – in Chevrolet's range to have its own exclusive symbol, and thus it has been upgraded to complement the design of the latest model. Joann Kallio, lead creative designer for Chevrolet global badging, says, "We kept the stylized interpretation of the animal, and made the impala more muscular.
