Cannonball Run seminar at Amelia Island was one for the ages
Mon, 21 Mar 2011I don't think I've been to a bad car show, and that includes the local Kamaro Klub in the Dairy Queen parking lot. But I tend to judge the shows by the afterglow--how much you remember a day or two after the event. I tend to remember a lot after every Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance, and that is mostly because the founder, Bill Warner, uses his annual North Florida show to do exactly what you and I would do if we ran a big show--invite our heroes to come talk and invite the cars we'd like to look at ourselves.
Jaguar Land Rover strong September sales thanks to Evoque & XF 2.2
Sat, 08 Oct 2011JLR Sales up in September thanks to XF 2.2 & Evoque We’ve had cause to take Jaguar Land Rover (well, Jaguar) to task lately for disappointing sales, particularly in the US and the UK. So it seems only fair, after dishing out disapprobation, that we should balance that with a story about a decent set of sales figures for JLR in September, especially in the face of weakening sales from other manufacturers in the UK. Unsurprisingly – although how long it will last is debatable – China was the strongest performer for Jaguar, certainly in percentage terms, with a rise of 156 per cent for Jaguar and 85 per cent for Land Rover and year on year figures up 60 per cent.
Volvo V70 (2007): unveiled
Fri, 02 Feb 2007By James Mullan First Official Pictures 02 February 2007 09:09 New Volvo V70: the lowdown Today heralds the launch of a new Volvo of the sort that’s shaped the world’s view of the Swedish company: a large, luxury estate. The new V70 is more practical, roomier and – surprise, surprise – faster than its predecessor. Volvo has attempted to spice up its oh-so-sensible estate by installing the T6 six-cylinder 285bhp 3.0-litre turbo.
