Mazda Furai concept: first official pictures

Wed, 09 Jan 2008

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 09 January 2008 09:37 The new Furai is designed to blend the boundaries between road cars and race cars, according to Mazda. The Japanese company claims that on any given weekend there are more Mazdas and Mazda-powered cars pounding the racetracks of the USA than of any other make. And to celebrate this, and 40 years of the rotary engine, Mazda has given us the Furai concept.

Mazda Furai concept sneak preview

Mazda Furai concept By Ben Whitworth First Official Pictures 12 December 2007 11:37 Mazda will pull the wraps of yet another concept car at Detroit – and has released this teaser shot to whet our appetites. Called the Furai – that’s Japanese for ‘the sound of the wind’ - the car was inspired by Mazda’s claim that on any given weekend, there are more Mazdas and Mazda‑powered racing cars in action on circuits across the United States than any other brand.Drawing design clues from racecars in the ALMS (American Le Mans Series), the Furai is underpinned by the Courage C65 chassis the company campaigned in the 2005 ALMS series, and it’s powered by a mighty 450bhp triple-rotor rotary engine. 'Furai purposely blurs boundaries that have traditionally distinguished street cars from racing cars,' says Franz von Holzhausen, Mazda’s North American director of design.

2015 Audi TT & TTS Coupe OFFICIAL: Geneva Motor Show

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

The 2015 Audi TT arrives at the Geneva Motor Show Audi hasn’t quite been to the Porsche school of car design for the 2015 Audi TT, but no one is going to accuse Audi of a radical departure for its third generation sports coupe. But despite familiar looks and profile, there is a lot going on in the new TT. The design is crisper and the front end is bolder with a more prominent grill, the new headlights get new LED graphics, the bonnet is more contoured and the Audi four rings move on to the bonnet – just like the R8.
