Future products: Mercedes-Benz plans B-class coupe, crossover, sedan

Mercedes-Benz is set to launch a wave of small luxury vehicles in the United States. An all-new C-class coupe will debut next year, followed by three derivatives of the front-wheel-drive B class in 2012 and 2013. "Everyone wants to be Mercedes-Benz," said Ernst Lieb, CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA.

On Monday, we got the first news of the Peugeot Onyx Supercar concept that is heading for the 2012 Paris Motor show and designed to show that Peugeot are a long way from down and out. Volkswagen has announced it is to finalise its takeover of Porsche by buying the remaining 50.1 per cent of Porsche stock for €4.46 billion. The takeover of Porsche by VW has been a long and rocky road, but then family fallouts are always messy. It all started with Porsche attempting to consume VW, but some clever manoeuvring by Ferdinand Piech thwarted the efforts of his cousin, Wolfgang Porsche, to swallow up his business and the financial crisis saw Porsche rack up €10 billion in debt in the process.
