This is a new Cobra style air cleaner, It has a black aluminum top with milled fins. and a dual quad base and 2" white paper element, measurements are 21" x 10" x 3". The dual quad base is adjustable from 8-3/4" to 9-1/4" center to center spacing. With some modifications the the center to center dimensions could be shortened or lengthened. (On a personal note I have trimmed the tin plates in the base to shorten the center to center spacing, and have added some material so the were no base open areas.) This assembly is fastened by a large tri bar black matching wing nut that fastens to a long bar welded in the base that produces a centered stud, each carb mounts firmly to the base.(see photos 2 & 3)

This air cleaner has the same dimensions as the factory original! Also the base, filter, and top will interchange with the original!

Italdesign Giugiaro transformed an Istituto d'Arte Applicata e Design (IAAD) student's thesis project into a 1:4 scale model after it was chosen by Giorgetto Giugiaro as the best Masters project in the ‘Golf Vision 2020' challenge. The challenge, launched in collaboration with the carozzeria and Volkswagen, asked students to design the Volkswagen Golf of 2020. The best designs from the Bachelors and Masters courses were picked at the end of the year by renowned designer and school sponsor, Giorgetto Giugiaro.
