The Airmar P120 plastic low-profile housing has an integrated valve-assembly to reduce water intrusion when removing the transducer insert. It fits the Airmar ST600 and ST800 transducers. Raymarine retractable speed and temperature transducers are ST800s.

 

 

 

Chrysler sold in £3.76 billion deal

In one of the biggest private equity deals seen in the automotive industry, Cerberus Capital Management has purchased 80.1% of Chrysler in a £3.76billion deal, leaving DaimlerChrysler with the remaining 19.9% stake in the loss-making company. The move marks the close of arguably the most high-profile transatlantic merger and shuts the door on Canadian car assembly giant Magna and billionaire Kirk Kerkorian, who last month offered £2.27billion for Chrysler.

Today, Autoweek announced the winners of our yearly Best of the Best competition with the Porsche Boxster S and Mercedes-Benz GL taking top honors. Presenting the awards, editor Wes Raynal said, “It was a tough call to make this year with so many incredible cars and trucks that debuted. After a year of evaluating everything on the market, the Porsche Boxster S and Mercedes-Benz GL rose to the top, really earning these two awards.” For Best of the Best awards, the Autoweek editors considered publicly available, all-new or substantially new 2013 model cars and trucks.

Sky's 3D pub channel will this weekend host the premiere of a 3D film showing David Coulthard driving the Mercedes SLS supercar around the Isle of Man. Click here to see the making of the 3D Merc SLS video.It was shot using a second SLS carrying a brace of 3D camera gear bolted to the back. After Sky's premiere, CAR Online will show the film here this autumn.Sky's 3D channel shows in 3000 pubs (click here to find your nearest pub).    If you cannot make it to the pub, the film will be showing in Mercedes dealers and online this autumn.
