The Audi S range of cars features high-performance V8 engines that are a perfect match for the Akrapovič Evolution exhaust systems.
Styled and designed in-house by Akrapovič’s engineers, the Audi S range of Evolution exhausts include valves that are steered through electric actuators designed to alter their position depending on the vehicle’s driving program and the driver’s style. They can also be changed in the car’s individual program settings.
The addition of an Evolution exhaust will increase power and torque levels, while decreasing weight and adding the unique Akrapovič sound. Evolution exhausts give the car a noticeably different character, with a deep sound at lower revs and a sportier note as the revs rise.
With four, superbly styled round carbon-fibre tailpipes, the Evolution system looks as good as it works on Audi S models.
This cat-back performance exhaust system leaves the stock catalytic converters in place, so there is no need to remap the ECU. Its easy-to-fit instructions make installation a simple, plug-and play task.

Jaguar XFR – the Cat’s out of the bag

Sat, 10 Jan 2009

The XFR is Jaguar’s answer to the barn-storming saloons from Mercedes, BMW and Audi, and if looks and spec (and the experience of driving the non-blown XF) are anything to go by, the new big Cat should get the cream. The XFR gets the new version of Jaguar’s AJV8 engine, which is a 5.0 litre supercharged lump, producing a whopping 510bhp, with the usual limited top speed of 155mph, and a 0-60 of around 4.5 seconds. The New Jaguar XFR surfaces ahead of Detroit Visually, the XFR gets the ‘Aggressive’ look, with big, chrome-trimmed air inlets at the sides (a Jaguar theme?

Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid gets Polestar upgrade

Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid gets Polestar upgrade The Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid is proving a big sales success for Volvo – and no wonder. The V60 Plug-in Hybrid takes the already very good Volvo V60 and plants a hybrid plug-in under the skin which offers Volvo’s 215bhp 5-cylinder diesel engine – which drives the front wheels – mated to a 70bhp electric motor at the back, making the V60 Plug-in a 4WD Estate with a decent turn of performance, a range of up to 621 miles and a BIK-busting 49g/k emissions. Not only that, but you can now have the V60 Plug-in with Volvo’s R-Design spec offering the usual Volvo ‘go faster’ updates which make the V60 look more purposeful without looking silly.
