Beattie joins Fisker as prices climb
Wed, 14 Dec 2011Fisker Automotive, maker of the luxury hybrid Fisker Karma, has appointed luxury-brands executive Richard Beattie to the newly created position of chief commercial officer. Beattie will be responsible for sales, marketing and customer service for the brand. Beattie comes from a strong run as executive vice president of sales and marketing for Jaguar North America and, before that, for Jaguar Land Rover North America, positions which followed a career at Ford, where he was most recently president and CEO of Mazda’s North American operations.
Subaru launches production of BRZ, Scion FR-S coupes in Japan
Fri, 16 Mar 2012Subaru on Friday officially launched production of the rear-drive BRZ sports coupe in its Gunma Main Plant factory in Japan. The plant also builds the Toyota version--which will be sold as the Scion FR-S in the United States--as the Toyota 86 in Japan and as the Toyota GT-86 in Europe. We expect the Subaru BRZ and the Scion FR-S to be in U.S.
Ford invests $1 million in teen-driving program
Tue, 08 Feb 2011The Ford Motor Co. Fund is investing an additional $1 million into its no-charge driving-skills program for teenagers, the automaker said on Tuesday. More than 3,000 Americans between the ages of 15 and 19 are killed in crashes each year, according to government statistics.
