Cadillac V-Flex Evan Mai Evan Mai presented the Cadillac V-Flex, a mid-engine electric race car that uses GM's E-Flex platform in a new configuration and advances Cadillac's art & science design language.  The race inspired proportion and layout of the V-Flex draws heavily from Le Mans prototype and F1 cars. Power would come from an electric motor with a range extending internal combustion engine. The Li-ion battery placed in the bottom center of the vehicle could be swapped from underneath the car during pit stops. Aluminum heat sinks in the rear efficiently dissipate heat away from the motor and battery while performing as a rear spoiler.  The front grille serves to communicate the Cadillac design philosophy and also serves as a functional aerodynamic enhancement.

Citroen Celebrates 80 Years Of The Traction Avant

FRENCH car maker Citroen is celebrating 80 years of its iconic Traction Avant in 2014 with a series of events dedicated to the famous model. Launched in April 1934, the new model – originally christened 7A - revolutionised the automotive world with its low centre of gravity, all steel monocoque body, light weight and radical aerodynamics. As a result, the front-wheel-drive Traction Avant boasted standard-setting characteristics for handling and road holding.

Concept Car of the Week: Jaguar R-D6 (2003)

Ten years ago Jaguar was still under the (s)mothering wing of Ford's Premier Auto Group. Its range comprised of the technically-advanced but stylistically geriatric XJ sedan, the golfers' favourite waftmobile XK8, the droopy S-Type with what appeared to be a lavatory seat on its nose and a Ford Mondeo in a bowler hat known as the X-Type.
