McLaren P1 Track confirmed as McLaren Automotive goes in to profit
Wed, 04 Jun 2014McLaren are building a track version of the P1 (pictured) for P1 customers only It’s only three years since McLaren Automotive entered the hugely competitive market for high-end supercars (well, it’s four years, but only three since the first 12C went to a customer), but it’s already in profit. McLaren made an operating profit in 2013 of £12.4 million (and a pre-tax of £4.4 million) on sales of £284.4 million and did so – as predicted – by hitting their sales targets – McLaren sold 1359 12Cs and 36 of the McLaren P1 hypercar. And that looks to be just the start.
JLR to build Range Rover Evoque & Jaguar XJ in India
Mon, 10 Feb 2014The 2014 Range Rover Evoque (pictured) joins the Jaguar XJ as new Indian-built cars Jaguar Land Rover already bolt together the Land Rover Freelander and Jaguar XF in India, which explains why they are the best-selling models in JLR’s range in India. That’s because import duties for cars in India can be as much as 170 per cent, so building cars locally make them much more competitively priced. At the Delhi Auto Expo Ralph Speth, JLR’s CEO, confirmed plans to start building the Jaguar XJ in India (including the XJ with the 2.0 litre EcoBoost engine), despite the complexity of producing as complex a car as the XJ outside the UK.
Lamborghini Estoque: the interior photos
Tue, 14 Oct 2008By Chris Chilton (photos by Radovan Varicak) First Official Pictures 14 October 2008 09:33 These are our first pictures inside the Lamborghini Estoque's cabin – and they show what drivers might expect in the cabin of a Lambo saloon in three years’ time if this Paris motor show concept gets the green light. Swathed in cream leather, the Estoque’s interior is dominated by a huge transmission tunnel that divides the cockpit into four individual zones, each with its own bucket seat. There’s a razor-sharp, angular theme at work in the cabin: even the column stalks are hexagonal.
