Peugeot 5008 HDi 110 Review & Road Test Part 2
Wed, 21 Jul 2010Part 2 of the Peugeot 5008 HDi Exclusive Road Test In the looks department the Peugeot 5008 is one of the better looking MPVs on the market. Peugeot have done a very good job of hiding the 5008′s bulk around cleverly designed lines, and the nose no longer looks the abomoination served up on many Peugeot’s in the last few years. MINI celebrates 100 years of car production in Oxford
Fri, 08 Mar 2013MINI will be celebrating a century of car production in Oxford on 28th March 2013, 100 years since the first Bullnose Morris Oxford was produced. It’s 100 years since the first Bullnose Morris Oxford rolled out on 28th March 1903, since when 11,655,000 cars have been built – with as many as 28,000 people employed in its heyday – and even Tiger Moth planes and Iron Lungs built alongside 80,000 repairs to Spitfires and Hurricanes during WWII. What is now MINI’s Plant Oxford was founded by William Morris – and Morris Motors kept control until 1952 – and has been owned and run by BMC, then British Motor Holdings (when Jaguar arrived), British Leyland (when Leyland Trucks, Triumph and Rover joined), nationalisation in the 1970s saw a variety of names, Rover Group arrived in 1986 and was subsequently privatised and sold in 1994 to BMW.
TVR set for 2015 comeback
Fri, 28 Jun 2013TVR's new owner, Les Edgar, has dated 2015 as the company's comeback, as they plan to have a two-car range costing 50,000-80,000 pounds ($76,155-$121,848). Having produced cars such as the Griffith, the Grantura, the Cerbera, the Chimaera, the Tuscan and the Sagaris, TVR hopes to continue and evolve this spirit after a production hiatus in 2006 due to ownership change. "It is a well-thought-out business plan, and at the root is the requirement to make money,” stated Edgar in an interview with Autocar.
