Frankfurt auto show: Mercedes-Benz previews the electric B-class
Wed, 14 Sep 2011Mercedes-Benz revealed an electric-powered B-class with range-extending capabilities at the Frankfurt motor show. This rounds out the company's line of standard gasoline- and diesel-engine versions in the second generation of the multipurpose fiver-seater. Set to go on sale in selected markets in 2013, the B-class E-cell Plus is propelled by a 136-hp electric motor that draws electricity from a lithium-ion battery mounted low within the car's MFA platform structure.

You won’t be shocked to learn the ‘Blue’ bit relates to the paint job on this VXR, which comes in fetching Arden Blue Metallic paint and is garnished with a set of 18″ alloys, tinted glass, Recaros and bespoke interior air vents (no, we have no idea either). Mon, 13 Jul 2009Honda are bringing the Honda CR-Z Hybrid to market next year, based on the CR-Z Concept from 2007 Honda’s first production Hybrid – the Honda Insight, recently called the worst car in the world – has not been a resounding success. True, it looks better than the Toyota Prius but – and we haven’t driven one yet so we can’t comment from our own experience – it’s not a great car. It has also been eclipsed – after a promising start – by the Toyota Prius, which has doubled its sales in Japan.
